I get on great with other horses although I do have to be in charge. I have been looking for an adoptive home for a few years now and would like to consider all possibilities before making my decision to retire here or not. Hello my name is Anna. I am a 18 year old Thoroughbred mare. I raced at the track in my younger years and after that I was a brood mare. I came to Castleton Ranch Horse Rescue after I was rescued from a breeding farm that could not afford to feed me anymore. I am delighted to be here and I have put on the weight that I lost.  Unfortunately, a cancerous growth was found on the underneath of my stomach.  I had an operation to have it removed, which went well.  Hopefully it will not return.  I would be delighted if you would like to sponsor me.

I was lucky that I found a space at Castleton Ranch Horse Rescue where I will spend the rest of my life with lots of new friends.

Hello my name is Queenie. I am a 17 year old Thoroughbred mare. I have been a permanent resident at Castleton Ranch Horse Rescue for a few years now. Before that I was a broodmare, but my owner did not want me anymore when I could no longer have babies so he sent me to an auction. I was purchased by a killer buyer and taken to a feedlot. Fortunately I was rescued by Castleton Ranch, as their wonderful donors raised enough money for my bail. I am now treated like a Queen and I am settled here forever.

Hello my name is Cass and I am a 4 year old mare.  Unfortunately I have Wobblers Syndrome, which means that sometimes my hind legs don't always move correctly when I want them to.  Because of this, I am a permanent resident at Castleton Ranch.  I have my own corral and I am getting around just fine as long as I can move at my own pace.  I love any type of horse treat and I love having my back scratched.

Hello my name is Dave and I am a 20 ish year old Thoroughbred gelding. I was sent to an auction in March 2008 where I was purchased by a killer buyer and sent to a feedlot. Fortunately Castleton Ranch Horse Rescue and their wonderful family of donors raised the funds to purchase me and all the other horses at the feedlot at that time and brought us all back to their rescue. I am now a permanent resident here and I am enjoying my retirement. I would love to be sponsored so that we can rescue more horses like me.

Hello my name is Cheryln. I am a lovely Thoroughbred mare in my late teens. I have been a broodmare for many years and have now retired. The breeding farm that I was at suddenly closed its doors and I was forced to find a new home, thats when I came across Castleton Ranch Horse Rescue. I was offered a home here and was able to give birth to my son Roberto safely and I know now that we will both be happy and safe forever.
