This is Darcy. He is a lovely 5 year old 15.3 hand Thoroughbred gelding. Darcy has raced in Northern California but has now retired from the sport and would like to try trail riding instead. Darcy is very friendly and would like a home with other horses. At the moment the only riding experience Darcy has experienced has been at the race track and he would not be suitable for beginner riders. Darcy has been adopted by Payge in Arizona.

This is Strawberry. She is a lovely 3 year old, 15.2 hand, red roan Quarter horse. Strawberry was recently rescued from a feedlot. Not long after her arrival at Castleton Ranch Horse Rescue she gave birth to a foal. Both Mum and baby came through the whole ordeal well and are doing great. Strawberry is Halter broke, able to lead, tie, trailer and stand for the farrier. She is very quiet and very friendly. Strawberry will be looking for an adoptive home when her foal is weaned at the end of August 2008. She would like a home with other horses whether in pasture or in a corral. Adoption fee $950.

These 2 handsome geldings are Cooper and Waffles. They are 2 years old Registered Belgians. They are PMU horses. Both Cooper and Waffles are now 16 hands and will reach about 17 hands. They would make a very handsome Driving Team! Currently both Cooper and Waffles lead and lunge but will be taught under saddle and to drive a wagon.Please call for more information. This is Patrick. He is a 12 year old 14.3 hand chestnut Arabian gelding. Patrick is broke to ride and has done some basic level dressage. He is a lovely horse with excellent ground manners. He leads, lunges, ties, clips and bathes etc. Patrick is good with other horses. His adoption fee is $950

This is Robin he is a lovely yearling registered Buckskin gelding. Robin is Halter Broke, Leading, Ties and able to load in the Horse Trailer. He is a very quiet easy horse to deal with. He will be about 15.2 hands and about 1100lbs when fully grown. Robin loves other horses and would like to go to a home with other horses. This is Aubrey. He is a 4 year old Pure Bred Arabian gelding. He is the Great Grandson of Strike and Great Great Grandson of Aladdinn, Bask, Naborr and Cedr on his top side and Great grandson of Naborr on the bottom side. Aubrey has just had 3 weeks training at the Monty Roberts Equestrian school. Aubrey is halter broke, leads,lunges, stands for the farrier, trailers, ground drives and is saddle broke. He is ready and looking for a lovely adoptive home who can break him to ride. Adoption donation $950.

This is Ernie. He is 3 year old Registered Belgian. Ernie was a PMU rescue horse. Ernie is smaller than the average Draft horse and will only grow to about 16 hands. Adoption donation $950. ERNIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED BY KATHY AND KEN OF LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA.

This is Toby, he is super sweet Quarter Horse yearling gelding. Toby loves attention and is very willing to please. He is Halter Broke, Leading, Ties, Stands for the Farrier, Trailers, Ground drives and is Saddle broke. Toby seems totally bombproof when leading out on the trail, he will make a lovely trail riding horse. When fully grown he will be about 15.1 hands and about 950lbs when fully grown. This lovely young lady is Shandy. She is a 6 week old foal who was born at Castleton Ranch not long after her Mum (Strawberry at the top of the page) was rescued from a feedlot. Shandy will be a stocky Quarter horse just like Mum and will reach about 15.2 hands. At the moment she is Chestnut in color but will probably change to a red roan in a few months. Shandy will be available for adoption in late August 2008 after she has been weaned. Adoption fee $750.

This is Connor. He is a 2 year old old fashioned type Quarter horse approx 14.3 hands. Conner is a PMU horse that has been rescued from a feedlot. He is currently looking for a loving home. At the moment Connor is Halter Broke,Leading, saddle broke, lunging, bathing, stands for the farrier and trailers. He has just returned from 3 weeks training at Monty Roberts. He is going to be very stocky and will reach 15.2 or 15.3 hands when fully grown. He will be ideal to do Roping etc. and is also nice and calm for trail riding.
